3. Foods Some People Allow
Following a true paleo diet will not allow these foods, but modern feeling seems to be changing in regard to some of them.
One of the major points discussed between the paleo purists and the modern paleoists is dairy products. If grass fed beef is acceptable then surely the by products (ie milk products) should also be acceptable. So I include here a few of the things that are shall we say borderline paleo. I leave it up to you to decide if you want to consume these products.
butter cheese condensed milk cream
cream cheese evaporated milk ice cream milk
yogurt
quality bacon from pasture fed pigs sweet potatoes
4. Sensible Snacks
baby carrots.
celery
cucumber
hard boiled eggs.
a piece of fruit. (apple, orange, pear)
a handful of nuts. (not peanuts)
leftovers from the night before.
apple slices with some almond butter.
a bowl of berries with some coconut cream.
homemade beef jerky.
5. Conclusion
There is a vast array of foods that can be eaten while following the paleo diet. The list here is extensive but not exhaustive.
As with any diet exercise is going to contribute to any weight loss. If you are primarily looking at weight loss I would recommend that you do not have potatoes.
Even though there are a great number of everyday foods that are not considered to be suitable for the paleo diet you are still left with an extraordinary amount of foods that are available.
Take a good look at the foods you can eat and make yourself some menus. It is surprising how easy it can be.
Great informative post, I have never heard of a Paleo diet before but we learn something every day don’t we haha. Healthy eating is the way forward if you are not healthy you are not 100% happy.
Thank you for sharing.
Dean.
